For shopping and strolling, downtown Puerto Vallarta can't be beat.
It has what must be the best boardwalk (El Malecon)
in all of Mexico, which follows the beach
and is lined with fancy shops and fine restaurants. Sundays are especially
fun, when many come out for the traditional family walk.
In the Plaza, there are often bands
playing or special theater performances. There is also an open market
with artists and food stands.
This is where you'll find many of Vallarta's landmarks, such as the Virgin
of Guadalupe Church and the Seahorse and
Dolphins sculptures.
