Rio Cuale and Playa Grande Tours Both the Rio Cuale and The Playa Grande rides pass through cobbled streets of Vallarta's picturesque outlying villages. Then on to the tropical forests and jungle of the Sierra Madre Occidental. The jungle road is similar to stateside fire roads, but here it is the road featuring some donkey traffic! This is followed by single track, which is varied and optional. We visit our local farmers and enjoy having fruit, snacks and taking a swim in a stream or near a waterfall amidst verdant tropical flora. The return is exhilarating downhill runs. Both of these popular rides are about 20K/12miles, and they total under 1000 ft. of climb. Difficulty is in proportion to speed attempted! Average time is 4 hrs. including a swim.
