A remote control flying club meets every Saturday, in a two-hectare space located in San Vicente, Nayarit, a little town along Banderas Bay. Previously, this club met in Rincon de Guayabitos, but will continue to meet in San Vicente.
Flying remote control airplanes is a very involved hobby and is not only about flying. You also have to learn how to construct them and tune the motor, to fly them safely. Currently there are eight people in this club. Visitors come by to investigate the sport, but you really have to love it to get involved. You need to build your airplane with patience and without rushing, as if something goes wrong your model plane will ‘bite the dust’. An instructor will teach you everything you need to know, such as starting the engine and filling it with gas.
If you are interested in joining this club contact them at www.aeromodelismovallarta.com. You simply need to like remote control airplanes. For the record, the first time you visit them they will give you an opportunity to fly a plane, and if you you’re hooked, they’ll provide purchasing information for the basic equipment.
