Not only is Puerto Vallarta a great destination for enjoying beaches, nightlife and art, it’s also the perfect place to enjoy exercising! Both early in the morning and late in the afternoon, it’s quite common to see people running along the Malecon, whether on their own, as couples, in groups or with pets. This and other scenic routes let you work on your cardio while enjoying the charm and beauty of our city.
Although you may be tempted to visit one of the many fine gyms in town, fresh-air options should not be missed. But, please, remember that if you’re over 30 you should check with your doctor before starting any exercise program. Recommended routes include:
Malecon – One of the most appealing routes (2.45 mi.), the Malecon is the ideal place to run while you appreciate public art and the local pace of life. Best times to run are 7 am and 6 pm, except Sundays.
Agustin Flores Contreras Stadium – The municipal stadium, with sports facilities and a professional 400-meter running track, is located on Fco. Medina Ascencio in front of the Sheraton.
