EntreAmigos, a non-profit community development organization established in San Pancho to address social, economic and environmental problems arising from accelerated development, has recently inaugurated their brand new “bodega” community center at the entrance to this peaceful oceanside town an hour north of Puerto Vallarta in Riviera Nayarit.

The dream for a permanent space started down the path toward reality in April 2009, when the state government of Nayarit granted entreAmigos the use of a giant abandoned warehouse (bodega). Thanks to the ongoing participation of volunteers and professionals, who set out to create the most environmentally friendly facility possible, the new space provides the same services offered at their prior location, but on a larger scale: a children’s library with English and Spanish texts, an Internet-enabled computer room, a language learning center, classes and workshops for children and adults, an art gallery and a recycling center, where materials are gathered and transformed into beautiful gifts, available on site. EntreAmigos is supported entirely by donations from individuals and foundations and is located at the entrance to San Pancho. Learn more by visiting www.entreamigos.org.mx.
