Countdown to Restaurant Week 2012 (Part 7-7)

Restaurant Week 2012 began three days ago, as we wrap our preview of the 45 participating restaurants. We present you with the final six restaurants that are participating in Restaurant Week for the very first time. Welcome newbies! Step into La Cigale French Bistro and you will immediately feel yourself transported to Paris or Marseille. The owners have taken their experience with similar venues in Paris, Marseille and Manhattan to create a true French bistro in the heart of Puerto Vallarta. With main courses such as Beef Bourgignon marinated in Burgundy wine, and desserts like the traditional Crêpe Suzette flambeed with Grand Marnier, how could you go wrong?

We can't get enough of Lobo Lui's BBQ Shack and their impressive authentic pit smoker, not to mention the amazing stories we've heard from the owners about having the smoker craned over the building in order to install it on their attic. The end result is delicious: authentic Texas-style bbq offerings, plain and simple. And being only one block away from the Malecón, it's ideal for a pre- or post-dinner stroll.

Mango's Beach Club is located in colonia 5 de Diciembre, the neighborhood where other important venues such as Teatro Vallarta and the Ley supermarket are located. It's casual ambiance is ideal for relaxing in the afternoon or evening, enjoying treats like their Macadamia-crusted Fish Fillet with lichee sauce, or their Banana Strudel, both available in their Restaurant Week special menu.

While most people think of Punto V as a trendy night club right on the Malecón (it is!), it is good to know that the venue is also a fine restaurant. There is no better time to discover this side of the elegant spot than Restaurant Week. Their menu features the creations of chef Martín García, and includes treats like Organic Pork Chop with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes.

Located within the Landmark Hotel and Spa (on top of it, actually), The View features an intimate, al fresco setting with excellent views of Puerto Vallarta's El Centro neighborhood, along with an outstanding menu that includes Duck Confit with red berry risotto, asparagus and port wine sauce. Whether you are sharing a meal with friends or on a romantic date, this is the place to be!

A new offering in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Tortuga Beach is bound to delight seafood lovers with their terrazza bar, lounge and live music. Such is their commitment to outstanding seafood, their Tortilla Soup is served with scallops, and available as an appetizer during Restaurant Week. At the same time, their dessert options feature Mexican Churros with cinnamon sugar, a very popular and traditional dessert throughout the country.
