Sidney Lecther and Enrique Cremaschi were born in different countries and had diverse professional backgrounds, but fate and the shared passion for excellent pizza brought them together in a Buenos Aires pizzeria in 1995. Lecther was born in Brazil, with Italian ancestors in his lineage. He literally started at the bottom of the restaurant business, as a dishwasher, but within two years worked his way to manager. Subsequently, he went on to open successful restaurants in the USA. Cremaschi also was born of Italian ancestry, but in the neighboring country of Argentina. His career began in port operations, and although he was promised positions in Mexico, they never materialized. Throughout his life, he held onto the dream of owning a house on the beach.
When the men thought of opening an authentic Italian restaurant, they felt Buenos Aires was too competitive. So, Lecther suggested they give Mexico a try. Upon arriving in Bucerias in 2000, they found the perfect home on the beach, and the rest is history. They opened the very successful Mezzaluna Restaurant in downtown Vallarta, but becoming tired of the often multiple daily commutes from Bucerias, sold it spontaneously when an unexpected purchase offer came in.
Currently, they own and operate Mezzogiorno Restaurant in their original Bucerias beach house, which they renovated themselves to become a spectacular restaurant/bar with both indoor and outdoor seating areas and stairs to the beach.
