A Multidimensional Woman
Mikki Prost, who arrived in Vallarta by sailboat in 1990, is a singer, dancer, actress, yoga teacher and business owner with seemingly boundless energy and a propensity toward altruism.
Performing has always been in Prost’s blood. She started dancing at age three and has gone on to enjoy a variety of roles on stage and in the theater, even performing as a professional ice skater. Since 2002, this multi-talented woman has starred in various productions in Vallarta, including her high-energy one-woman show of song and dance titled “Fever,” which she’ll be embellishing and performing again later in 2008 at the Santa Barbara Theater.
After suffering an unfortunate accident in 1976 that resulted in chronic pain, Prost was drawn to the path of Iyengar yoga. Within six months, the pain was gone. She subsequently took instructor training and has been teaching this therapeutic form of yoga to individuals and groups ever since.
Prost is also the proud owner of Encore Boutique, which sells quality women’s clothing on consignment, as well as tea towels to support female inmates of the local prison (email@example.com). In the back of the store, Prost keeps excess clothing to give away to women in need, and all men’s clothing that comes her way is donated to a thrift store that is helping to fund a seniors’ facility. In the past, she helped raised funds and supplies for local Huichol Indians and women in abusive relationships.
This charismatic lady shows no signs of slowing down and truly lives each day to the fullest. “When I put my heart and soul into something, I’m going for it!”
