Sometimes the best ideas blossom slowly. But when they do, they glow and inspire. In the case of the 5000 bouganvillea specimens recently bestowed on our city by the Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens, it is finally happening. Drive along Fco. Medina Ascencio, the primary thruway for the Hotel Zone and Marina Vallarta, and you’ll notice the budding ornamental plants along the median strip.
It will take a while for the plants to reach maturity and truly paint our city with colorful flowers. In the meantime, we are grateful for this monumental effort and encourage locals and visitors to get involved with the Gardens, which is actively seeking donations to continue with its urban gardening projects. www.vallartabotanicalgardens.org
