After years of lobbying, San Pancho’s non-profit community development organization entreAmigos finally received “the” letter from Alonso Villaseñor, secretary of economic development for the state of Nayarit, effectively allowing them to move to an unoccupied warehouse at the entrance to town. This is a pivotal moment for the organization, which since 2006 has been responsible for empowering children and families of this popular town through the implementation of educational programs, the construction of a very successful park made of recycled materials (RecyclaParque), a bilingual library and computer center, and a small shop where unique products created out of recycled goods are offered.
That said, the newly acquired space is far from habitable in its current state, making it essential for the organization to reach out to supporters. And for those not familiar with it, consider visiting entreAmigos next time you are in San Pancho, or browse their website (www.entreamigos.org.mx) to learn more about how you can help this organization continue its indispensable programs.
