Americans for Medicare in Mexico, A.C. (AMMAC) was created to bring together the people, organizations, expertise and resources necessary to attain US Congressional authorization for a pilot project for Medicare in Mexico. If approved, this unprecedented project would cover 20,000 to 30,000 beneficiaries in Mexico. Puerto Vallarta resident Paul Crist, founder and president of the organization, personally lobbied Capitol Hill last year, making visits to 85 members of Congress, both House and Senate, and has received a preliminary thumbs-up from a number of them. If Medicare coverage in Mexico is important to you, a letter to your elected representatives and senators and joining the AMMAC mailing list (www.medicareinmexico.org) will surely go a long way.
