During the visit, both agencies worked together to promote our destinations’ finest through nine interviews held with important regional media outlets in San Diego, Costa Mesa, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
“We met with important travel agents in each one of these cities, offering presentations in which important features of our destinations were showcased,” explained Guillermo Ohem, who oversees Puerto Vallarta’s Tourism Bureau. A total of 456 travel agents participated in the effort, in hopes of strengthening ties with the industry, in addition to all the promotional efforts currently in place with the airline industry to increase flights to Puerto Vallarta.
Marc Murphy of Riviera Nayarit added, “There is already an increase in flights, particularly from California, which has always been a natural market for us. Now we are hoping to entice the people of California to take advantage of these new travel options, and spend an amazing time in the region.”
