The Vallarta Botanical Gardens, one of Puerto Vallarta’s most popular attractions, recently announced a matching gift program to raise funds for their new Vallarta Conservatory of Mexican Orchids. A longtime anonymous donor to the gardens has pledged to match contributions to this campaign dollar for dollar up to $100,000 USD until December 31, 2013, toward an overall project goal of $350,000 USD. With everybody’s generous contributions, the new building will serve as an iconic destination for orchid enthusiasts, a living classroom for students of all ages, a repository of biological diversity and a model of successful international conservation efforts. Architect Joe Sanchez, of Max Living and Design, is responsible for the design of the multi-level structure.
Executive Director Neil Gerlowski stopped by our offices to share some specifics about the fundraising campaign, which we captured in the following video. More information and instructions for US and Canadian taxpayers wishing to make tax-deductible donations for this exciting project are available on the Vallarta Botanical Gardens website: www.vbgardens.org.
