Riviera Nayarit To Host The IX Pacific Alliance Summit

The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita and The St Regis Punta Mita Resort will host 500 dignitaries and leaders from Peru, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica and Mexico—along with 150 international press representatives— during the Ninth Pacific Alliance Summit, June 19-20. The Pacific Alliance is a Latin American trade bloc that seeks to advance free trade and economic integration among the member states, as well as a visa-free travel area, a common stock exchange, and common diplomatic representation. that seeks the integration of this region of North and South America via the free movement of goods, services, capital and people.
Presently, it has four member states: Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Perú, all of which border the Pacific Ocean. Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto will welcome presidents from the other three states, along with Laura Chinchilla, from Costa Rica.
Located in Punta de Mita, the two host resorts are categorized as Five-Diamond properties, the highest ranking offered by AAA. Since their inauguration, both properties have received awards and recognitions in different categories from publications such as Condé Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure and TripAdvisor, among others.
With this summit Riviera Nayarit continues to position itself as the host destination for important events on an international level. One other example is the 2nd Conference on the Humanitarian Impact of Nuclear Weapons undertaken by the United Nations Organization, which took place during the month of February and included the participation of over 143 countries.
