Riviera Nayarit Takes the Lead in Clean Beach Certification

Riviera Nayarit increased its number of certified clean beaches from six to ten during the Tenth Clean Beach Conference that recently took place in Puerto Vallarta. The event was organized by Mexico’s National Water Commission (Conagua).
The four beaches that received certification during the event are listed below, along with other beaches that were re-certified, placing Riviera Nayarit at the top of the list of Mexican destinations with certified clean beaches. Riviera Nayarit has ten our of a total of 31 certifications:
- Palladium (Punta de Mita)
- Platanitos (Banderas Bay)
- Costa Capomo Becerros (Compostela)
- El Borrego (San Blas)
- Los Muertos (Sayulita)
- Nuevo Vallarta Norte I
- Nuevo Vallarta Norte II (Nuevo Vallarta)
- Nuevo Vallarta Sur (Nuevo Vallarta)
- Bucerías (Banderas Bay)
- Chacala (Compostela)
In addition, Pronatura Mexico re-certified the beach at Nuevo Vallarta Norte with the Blue Flag, awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education. Palmares Beach in Puerto Vallarta received the Blue Flag recently, for the first time. There are a total of 11 Blue Flag beaches in all of Mexico.
