The Puerto Vallarta Garden Club recently announced their kick-off meeting for the season, to take place on Thursday, October 17, 11 am, at the Paradise Community Center on Púlpito St., in Colonia Emiliano Zapata. Guest speaker Bob Price, curator at the Vallarta Botanical Gardens, will discuss Beautification in the Current Political Climate of Puerto Vallarta.
Now beginning their fourth continuous year, the Puerto Vallarta Garden Club is largely responsible for the many plantings that adorn several public gardens throughout Puerto Vallarta, most notably in Colonia Emiliano Zapata along Basilio Badillo, Olas Altas and Insurgentes Sts., and also on Plaza Lázaro Cárdenas. Last year, the volunteer organization produced the first-ever Puerto Vallarta Bougainvillea Festival, and is expected to put together a sophomore event as well.
Participation in the Puerto Vallarta Garden Club is open to anyone interested in being part of the ongoing beautification of public spaces throughout Puerto Vallarta. For more information on the club and its activities, please email Suzanne Kirkpatrick.
