Nuestra Belleza México, a Mexican beauty pageant founded in 1994 by Lupita Jones, the country’s first Miss Universe titleholder, will hold its final round of competitions in Puerto Vallarta, on August 20. The announcement was made recently during a press conference led by Jones, Jalisco governor Emilio González Marquez and other event promoters.

Winners from all Mexico states are expected to arrive in Mexico City on July 22nd for their final preparation stage, departing for Jalisco on August 3rd. The event will feature three phases with live broadcasts on Televisa’s Canal de las Estrellas on August 13, 18 and 20, the latter two (stages two and three, respectively) transmitted from Puerto Vallarta.

The pageant, directed by Jones and produced in association with Televisa, is responsible for choosing the country’s delegates to Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss International. Since its inception, the organization has produced Mexico’s second Miss Universe and two Miss International winners in 2007 and 2008.

Although the local venues have yet to be announced, Nuestra Belleza México 2011 is expected to favorably place Puerto Vallarta in the limelight, featuring outstanding performances by important guest artists.
