Grand Velas All Suites & Spa Resort located in Nuevo Vallarta received the Five Diamond Award from the American Automobile Association (AAA)this past Thursday, December 14. This recognition is for excellent service, high quality in their facilities and luxury amenities for guests. Tony Perrone, AAA Manager in Mexico, presented the award to Grand Velas owner, Eduardo Vela. Grand Velas General Manager Oscar Cruces remarked that the entire staff was proud to receive the award, a testament to their efforts to satisfy their guests in every way possible. The American Automobile Association has been qualifying the hotel industry with high standards of evaluation since 1963. More than 65 AAA inspectors visit hotels, hotel inns, restaurants and attractions all over USA, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Grand Velas is now among a select circle of winners of this prestigious award. Nayarit Governor Ney González was present at the award ceremony to congratulate Grand Velas owner and managers. He used the event as an opportunity to share some good news to those attending: Nayarit's Congress has approved some regional name changes. Formerly known as Nuevo Vallarta, the portion between Río Ameca and Punta de Mita will now be known as Vallarta Nayarit, while the section between Litibú and San Blas will now be called Riviera Nayarit.
