Grand Velas is now among a select circle of winners of this prestigious award. Nayarit Governor Ney González was present at the award ceremony to congratulate Grand Velas owner and managers. He used the event as an opportunity to share some good news to those attending: Nayarit's Congress has approved some regional name changes. Formerly known as Nuevo Vallarta, the portion between Río Ameca and Punta de Mita will now be known as Vallarta Nayarit, while the section between Litibú and San Blas will now be called Riviera Nayarit.
