El Arrayán, dedicated to promoting the enjoyment of great food while defending the Mexican cultural identity tied to food and cooking traditions, announced that they will be hosting the first official “Slow Food” activity for the general public on Thursday, June 28 at 7:00 pm.

With over 83,000 members world-wide, “Slow Food” connects pleasure and food with awareness and responsibility. They seek to defend biodiversity in our food supply, spread the education of taste, and link producers of excellent foods to consumers through events and initiatives. Hosting this special activity will be just one of the many initiatives to come from the local “Slow Food” convivium.

The local community is invited to enjoy this “Slow Food” tasting menu while listening to live music featuring “Los Aventureros de la Concha.” The cost for the 6-course menu is $550 Pesos per person and includes one original cocktail and gratuity. The public is also invited to join the local “Slow Food” group, “Slow Food Bahia de Banderas”, for $505 Pesos which includes a one year membership, the Slow Magazine, electronic newsletter and discounts on activities for the local convivium. The public can enjoy both the tasting menu and join the “Slow Food” movement for the special price of $955 Pesos. Funds will help promote “Slow Food Bahia de Banderas” locally and will help include the local chapter in activities for students of tourism and gastronomy from this region.
