In the third of a seven-part feature, we focus on the final group of $299-menu restaurants that will participate in this year’s Restaurant Week, May 15 - 31. We will continue with the $189-menu participants and wrap up the series with all restaurants participating in Restaurant Week for the first time. Did you miss the previous installments? Look for a link at the bottom of the page!
Taste Restaurant @ Casa Cupula won last year’s Readers’ Choice Award in the “Best New Restaurant” category. Several months later, it continues to thrive largely due to its cohesive staff, consistent service and creative culinary inspiration served by chef Oscar Rito. It’s secluded location is an unexpected surprise for most visiting for the first time.
Located right on Los Muertos beach, The Blue Shrimp’s palapa dining experience is perfect for those looking for a nice, breezy sunset dinner, live music included. If it is seafood you are craving, The Blue Shrimp’s Restaurant Week menu is definitely worth exploring.
The River Cafe’s location on Isla Rio Cuale makes exploring the island right after lunch or before dinner an unavoidable experience. Spanning several blocks from the oceanfront pedestrian bridge to Gringo Gulch and Emiliano Zapata (left and right, respectively) it is an easy walk. Ask your waiter about the restaurant’s exceptional Marta Gilbert art collection!
Serving outstanding meat cuts with the same finesse as the French offerings served at his landmark restaurant, Café des Artistes, Thierry Blouet’s aptly-named Prime Steakhouse is conveniently located in Plaza Península, making it an easy reach for anyone, traveling from the south or north shores.
Few streets in Colonia Emiliano Zapata have the allure that Olas Altas has. And Trattoria Michel’s corner location (at Olas Altas and Rodolfo Gómez) is perfect. Choose inside seating if you want a livelier, air-conditioned experience, or sit outside to enjoy a candle-lit dinner.
Being one of the most successful and elegant restaurants in town, Restaurant Week at Trio is something you must try, in order to truly appreciate the broad gamut of culinary experiences available throughout Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit. Beverages are not included in Restaurant Week menus. However, this is definitely a restaurant where you will want to splurge a little in their extensive selection of expertly-paired wines!
In part four of this feature we will begin exploring the $189-menu restaurants participating in Restaurant Week this year.
