In the second of a seven-part feature, we continue focusing on the $299-menu restaurants that will participate in this year’s Restaurant Week, May 15 - 31. We will continue with the $189-menu participants and wrap up the series with all restaurants participating in Restaurant Week for the first time. Did you miss the first part? When a restaurant as eclectic as La Leche commits in advance to a specific menu for Restaurant Week (chef Alfonso Cadena usually makes up the menu on a daily basis) you can expect something truly spectacular. Last year, the unique restaurant received the “Best Restaurant Concept” award from Travel + Leisure magazine in Mexico City.
One of the most beautiful resorts in Puerto Vallarta, the CasaMagna Marriott has chosen to participate with Las Casitas in this year’s Restaurant Week. The outdoor restaurant offers spectacular sunset views with its beachfront location, making it an ideal choice for folks in Marina Vallara or surrounding communities.
Built on top of a cliff in Puerto Vallarta’s scenic South Shore (just north of Boca de Tomatlán), Le Kliff not only features amazing sunset views and top-notch cuisine. It is one of the most sought-after oceanfront wedding destinations in Mexico. It’s massive palapa encloses the main dining area, while other, more private dining areas, are also available upon request.
As beautiful a location as its cuisine, Nicksan is the result of a unique fusion of Japanice and Mexican cuisines, devised by its owners, Angel Carbajal and Masayuki Niikura. A must-visit in Los Cabos since 1994, Nicksan has contributed in raising the bar for gourmet restaurants in Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit.
By providing an array of authentic Mexican cuisine favorites in a warm, feel-good atmosphere, Alfredo González and Julie Guerrero’s No Way José! has quickly become a must-visit restaurant in colonia Emiliano Zapata, where live music helps create a festive ambiance in its two seating areas: a spacious al fresco terrace and a more intimate room downstairs.
Prime 159’s unique penny floor is reason enough to start a conversation. It’s entire main seating area is covered with them! However, you may also chose to dine outside, its spacious terrace offering a broad view of Nuevo Vallarta’s water canals. Regardless, this steakhouse’s commitment to the finest cuts of USDA beef, along with fresh seafood, are exemplary.
With its two locations (Nuevo Vallarta and Marina Vallarta) Porto Bello is an ideal choice for Italian food devotees. And this is no surprise, as the restaurant first opened its doors in Marina Vallarta in 1989. A variety of family-style recipes and homemade pastas and sauces, make this an ideal restaurant for lunch or dinner.
In part three of this feature we will feature of the $299-menu restaurants participaticipating in Restaurant Week.
