Puerto Vallarta’s Sheraton Buganvilias will host a Bartender Tournament this week in which the city’s top bartenders will compete to create the best cocktail. The three top local finalists will subsequently compete with finalists from Cancún and Mexico City for the top honor. The tournament was created by Madrileña wineries in conjunction with the Flair Bartending School. The first edition of this tournament was successfully held last year and an equally popular event is anticipated this coming week.

Bartenders from Dreams, Café des Artistes, Four Seasons Punta Mita, Bubba Gump, Sheraton, Velas Vallarta, Paradise Village, Marival, Westin Regina, Hard Rock Café, Hilo, Mandala, La Palapa De Santos and Melía hotel are expected to participate. To further enhance the event, this year bartenders attended a training workshop prior to the tournament. Topics covered included new trends in cocktails such as molecular mixed drinks. During the workshop 15 out of 50 attendees were selected to participate in the event.
