Puerto Vallarta Says: Bye-Bye, Billboards!

Published Apr 5, 2013, 12:13pm -

What’s wrong with this picture? Actually, nothing. But locals may notice that the tall metal structure promoting Plaza Neptuno is gone. This, along with similar structures at Soriana Playa de Oro, Plaza Caracol and other points around the city, including several car dealerships along Fco. Medina Ascencio, has been removed by Puerto Vallarta’s current administration. With less than six months since taking office, when it comes to the improvement of Puerto Vallarta’s visual image in the eyes of visitors and locals, Mayor Ramón Guerrero clearly means business. The removal of large billboards and other signs that visually contaminate the city has been received favorably by local business chambers, the tourism bureau, the hotel/motel association and the general public, all of which would rather welcome visitors with a cleaner, more friendly landscape.
