Published Mar 4, 2013, 12:25pm -

Galleria Dante will be showcasing works by Luis Castellanos Valui and Jorge Coste this coming Friday, March 8, with cocktails from 6 - 10 pm, as part of the Basilio Badillo Southside Shuffle.

Born in Guadalajara, Castellanos Valui infuses his canvases with Latin-American roots combined with traditions of tropical jazz and cafe culture. His colorful works have been collected by the J. Paul Getty Institute, Capitol Records, Atlas and Mambo Restaurants, Televisa, and many Hollywood personalities.

Sculptor Jorge Coste was born in Cordoba, Veracruz. Most of his work is created in bronze, but he also uses clay, concrete, fiber glass, wood and different types of resins. His work has been acquired by collectors in the US, Canada, France, and other parts of the world. Most of his subject matter follows four basic lines of work: marine fauna, horses and bulls, human figure in motion, and stylized minimal figures.

Galleria Dante is located at Basilio Badillo 269, in Emiliano Zapata.
