The decrease in aerial tourism arriving in Puerto Vallarta stopped, finally, during the month of June, according to Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (GAP), the company that manages Puerto Vallarta’s International Airport. According to their first bi-annual report of the year, the airport welcomed the arrival of 104,500 tourists last month, most of which traveled from the US and Canada.
In comparison, the same month last year saw the arrival of 93,200 passengers, a 12 percent increase this year. In terms of national tourism, GAP reported favorable numbers as well, with 64,200 passengers, an increase from last year’s 57,800 during the same month.
GAP anticipates a continued, gradual increase of international tourist arrivals, particularly after September, when the cooler winter temperatures mark the beginning of the region’s Winter/Spring season.
