Aerojal, a new regional airline serving the route from Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara (www.aerojal.com.mx) is expected to begin operating in June. A small fleet of 50-passenger, Canadian-made Bombardier CRJ200 jet planes will eventually connect the state of Jalisco with many important destinations throughout the country, from Baja California to Yucatán, bypassing Mexico City's International airport. Elliot Bedolla Álvarez, general manager for the airline, stated that their fares will be 30 - 50% less expensive than current Aeromexico fares for the same route.
