a-judygarland

What do you get when you mix an internationally acclaimed impersonator, outrageous comedy, great standards and a bevy of icons? The hysterical parody of Judy Garland and her guests found in Michael Holmes’ riotous The Judy Show! which opens Friday, March 2, 2012 at 8pm at The Palm Cabaret at Olas Altas 508 in Emiliano Zapata.

The spirit of Judy Garland is alive and well with Holmes as he impersonates Judy Garland, who, in her 1964 television variety show, played host to some of the greatest stars of Hollywood – also played by Holmes. Perfomances continue Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm and Saturdays at 10pm through March 14.

This hysterical blend of humor and music explodes into a comedy studded night of glamorous guest stars that are always changing including Carol Channing, Mae West, Bette Davis, Billie Holiday, Katherine Hepburn, Pearl Bailey, Peggy Lee and Tallulah Bankhead (all performed by Holmes on stage). Singing many of your favorite standards including The Trolley Song, Hello Dolly, God Bless The Child, Over the Rainbow (and many more) Holmes is accompanied on the piano by renowned Palm Springs’ pianist Joel Baker.

Holmes, who is a celebrated entertainer, singer, impressionist, and improvisational comedian, has performed throughout the United States to sell-out houses. Being one of the most sought after celebrity impressionists and cabaret entertainers, he splits his time now between East and West Coasts. In addition to impressions Holmes has become one of the country’s premier jazz vocalists releasing his second Jazz CD this year.

Michael Holmes has been producing and performing The Judy Show! for ten years, entertaining audiences from Maui to Manhattan, across the seas to Europe; all with rave reviews! Holmes has opened for Sam Harris, Sting and Elton John and hosted a number of variety and charity events. While primarily producing the show for theatres, he has also been a cabaret headliner for many years at the Dunes Resort in Saugatuck, Michigan.

Tickets for The Judy Show and all shows at The Palm Cabaret may be purchased online at www.ThePalmPV.com or at the door starting at 6:30pm nightly.
