Galleria Dante recently announced that their next reception will feature the works of Edgar Martínez and Boback Emad. The reception will take place on Friday, January 13, from 6 to 10 pm, coinciding with the neighborhood's Southside Shuffle.

Born in Toluca, México, Edgar Martinez came to Puerto Vallarta when he was six years old. He only left once to study art for 5 years in Guadalajara. He feels inspired and influenced by the great masters, but has worked diligently to create his own style, compositions and perspective, through his study of their masterpieces. Edgar also draws from his Mexican culture to create the subjects in his paintings, often depicting bull fighters or bulls, or village scenes, street scenes, and horses.

Boback Emad current exhibition, entitled “Symbols: A Sculptural Language,” was inspired by the sculptor’s recent experiences in France. Influenced by the intimacy of Parisian living, Emad began exploring the unexpected connection between the symbolism of geometry and humanity. For the first time he will be displaying his paintings and ink drawings to illustrate the “conversation” between his two-dimensional and three-dimensional works.

Galleria Dante is located at Basilio Badillo 269 in Colonia Emiliano Zapata. Learn more about Galleria Dante by clicking here.
